€1.7 million investment in rural roads

€1.7 million investment in rural roads

Infrastructure Malta has completed the reconstruction and upgrade of several rural roads, improving access for farmers and local communities.

Completed works include Sqaq il-Qbiela in Naxxar, an unnamed road off Triq l-Imġarr in Mosta, Triq Fra Ludovico Savoye in Rabat, Triq Wied Qannotta in St Paul’s Bay, and Triq Santu Kristu tal-Għolja in Siġġiewi.

The Agency is also continuing similar works in Triq il-Madonna ta’ Lourdes in Birżebbuġa, another rural road off Triq Is-Santi in Mġarr, and an alley in Triq Panoramika, Siġġiewi.

With an investment of €1.7 million, these projects aim to provide reliable access to agricultural land and strengthen rural infrastructure. Works included new rainwater collection systems, water pipes for irrigation, reinforced road foundations, and road surfaces designed to complement the rural environment.

These works reflect Infrastructure Malta’s commitment to improving rural accessibility, supporting the agricultural community, and investing in infrastructure that meets the needs of Malta’s countryside.

The project is partially financed by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development through the EU Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan.
